Why This Die-hard Tailwind Fan Girl Got BoardBooster

Note: Board Booster has permanently closed. I use and recommend Tailwind 100% of the time. Get your first month free here!

I sing the praises of Tailwind on a daily basis.

It’s amazing! It’s boosted my blog traffic! It’s love!

Tribes is incredible! I love how easy it is to schedule my pins!

So why’d I get BoardBooster?

Say what?!

Yep, it’s true.

I invested in BoardBooster this month. Here’s why:

Reason #1 – My laptop can’t cope with Pinterest (go figure)

I’m barely able to use Pinterest right now. I get all kinds of errors and glitches when I try to browse. Let alone using Tailwind – script error central! There’s nothing more sad than queuing up 50 pins only to find none of them actually went…

My mistake for getting a laptop. I should’ve gone with another desktop PC.

Reason #2 I needed a fully autopilot method

Because of reason #1, I can hardly use Pinterest or Tailwind. I needed a hands free method that didn’t require difficult tasks like clicking, or loading #sarcasm.

I got BoardBooster and turned on looping for a couple of my boards, so that at least some of my content is going back into the Smartfeed constantly.

Reason #3 Sometimes you don’t want full control

Tailwind gives you ultimate control over your pins, but sometimes you just don’t want that. You want to be able to tell your program to loop that board, without having to mess about with each individual pin. Or pin to those group boards a couple of times a day, without having to say which exact pin, at which exact time.

(Sorry Tailwind – I still <3 you!)

So I’ve inadvertently done a bit of an experiment:

What happens when you don’t use Tailwind (much) and switch to BoardBooster (just looping)?

Here’s my stats:

Why Boardbooster stats

You’ll notice my impressions had started falling because I’d stopped being able to pin. Now, they’re going up again. I started BoardBooster on the 12th. You’ll noticed that the steeper curve starts around the 9th/10th.

I’m hopefully getting a new computer this weekend, so fingers-crossed I’ll be able to get back on Pinterest, Tailwind, and Canva again. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens with both BoardBooster and Tailwind.

So, are you on both Tailwind and BoardBooster? Or do you swear by one over the other? Let me know!

  1. I am new to blogging, and am happy to hear that I am not the only one having laptop issues when using Tailwind and Pinterest. Thanks for sharing your experience with Board Booster in comparison to Tailwind.

    1. No worries Kathryn 🙂 Thanks for commenting. It was really disappointed to have those issues with Tailwind (though to be fair, Pinterest itself was also a problem). Boardbooster wasn’t anywhere near as resource draining.

I hope you’re able to get Pinterest to work for you. It’s a great source of traffic!

  2. I am such a Tailwind girl. I just renewed my account 2 days ago with them. I’ve been planning to check out Boardbooster but keep on putting it away. Even my laptop can’t take too much of data right now, and loading takes forever.

I guess it’s about time I give it a try and see how it performs. Thanks for sharing your views!

    1. Hey Gurki! I love Tailwind too. I’m so glad to finally be back on a computer that can handle Pinterest again. I’d love to hear how you go with BoardBooster 🙂

  3. I have tried both BoardBooster and Tailwind, but not at the same time. I am currently using Tailwind. Once my blog has a bit more pinnable content, I think I may add BoardBooster back into the mix for the looping feature. I have been reading about many bloggers using both and having great results with the combination!

    1. Hey Kecia 🙂 I’m enjoying the fact that BoardBooster makes it so easy to repin your own content – I set my main board to looping. Now I don’t have to worry whether I’m including enough of my own content in my pinning strategy. I’m looking forward to trialing the combination!

  4. Cath, I’m using both as well. Just started on board booster about a month ago. I love how easy it is to pin to group boards from board booster. I’m still trying it out and it’ll be interesting to see in 1-2 months how things pan out. You can always have love in your heart for a new scheduling tool 😉

And I need a new laptop as well. Blogging is killing my current one!

    1. Hey Meera! I’m loving how easy looping is so far. I’ll have to look into the group board situation. The thing I didn’t like about BoardBooster was that the process of saving pins to a board is more time-consuming than queuing up in Tailwind (in my opinion).

And yep, I agree – there’s always room in my heart for amazing scheduling tools 🙂

Hope your new laptop is able to cope! I was so disappointed with mine :/
